Don't panic. Most power issues have simple solutions.
Step 1: Check the Power
- Charger plugged into both laptop and wall outlet?
- Try a different outlet.
- Check for a charging light. No light = possibly faulty charger.
Step 2: Hard Reset
- Disconnect the charger.
- Remove the battery (if removable).
- Hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.
- Reconnect charger (and battery).
- Try turning it on.
Step 3: Check the Display
Your laptop might be on but the screen could be off:
- Listen for fan noise or drive activity.
- Press the brightness up key (Fn + brightness).
- Connect an external monitor to test.
Step 4: Remove External Devices
Disconnect all USB devices, monitors, and peripherals. A faulty USB device can sometimes prevent booting.
When to Contact Support
